CAMELS

The African and Middle Eastern deserts are some of the harshest environments on Earth. Water sources are few and far between; shade is a luxury and temperatures go from extreme hot during the day to cold at night. Wicked, swirling sandstorms are frequent, disorienting animals and people, making navigation impossible. And yet here is where you will find Camels, with their unmistakable silhouette, gracefully moving across the hot, arid terrain. How do Camels survive? Because of numerous unique anatomical and physiological features that allow them to beat the heat. Learn more about the Camel's desert durability and why Camels are revered in the Middle East in our Wild Side walk with Camels.
